The Longest Day

Pi

21st June 2013 – the Summer Solstice, the longest day.

Druids, and others, have gathered at Stonehenge to celebrate the day.

Despite driving past Stonehenge on many occasions and, many, many years ago, climbing over the stones themselves (in those days you had un-restricted access to the monument. Today, you are kept a respectful, if disappointing, distance from the stones) there’s not a lot I can tell you about Stonehenge, and I certainly have no new insight into its mystery.

But, have you noticed, the stones look like the symbol for Pi: π and they are in a circle, too?

And that’s kind of cool.
